Norma Darnell, President
Norma Darnell holds a Master’s degree in Social Work, and her advocacy journey began as a Recovery Support Specialist, where she used her own recovery story to inspire hope in others. Over the years, she continued to build her education and hands-on experience, eventually becoming a supervisor over multiple departments, including recovery-based housing. Norma helped develop a recovery housing model that received recognition through awards and many success stories.
As a survivor of sexual exploitation, her passion now fuels everything she does. She is the owner of Free Ever After Bridal, a bridal boutique known for supporting survivors in the community and giving back in meaningful ways. Norma is deeply dedicated to advocating for victims and survivors and is committed to building SAAS as a truly survivor-centered organization.

Stacy Rakowitz, Vice President
Stacy is a licensed professional counselor with a passion for supporting survivors of trauma, particularly individuals who have experienced human trafficking. She has been actively involved in community outreach, volunteering at numerous events aimed at raising awareness about human trafficking and promoting internet safety. In addition to her volunteer efforts, Stacy regularly provides educational trainings throughout the community, helping to inform and equip others in the fight against trafficking.
Bryonne Luhtala
Secretary
Bryonne has lived in Tucson for nearly 25 years now! She enjoys serving the Tucson community as a healthcare professional and through volunteerism. She recently became a certified laser technician and hopes to help support those in the SAAS mentorship program by offering tattoo removal. Bryonne is grateful to be a part of SAAS and its mission to provide individualized support to survivors!
Victor Bellino
Treasurer

Victor Bellino recently retired from a 36 year corporate career with Procter & Gamble and COTY. He became involved with SAAS after his daughter, Maggie, recruited him! He is energized to help contribute to SAAS, and encouraged to see corporations like Delta Airlines (#GetOnBoard) and social influencers like Ashton Kutcher and Jada Pinkett Smith get involved in the fight against human trafficking.
Mentorship Team -

Mari Chantharaj- Executive Assistant
Mari brings extensive experience in administrative leadership and outreach event coordination. She and her husband have walked alongside countless families on their journey toward healing, becoming a true source of inspiration within the community.
As a survivor of domestic violence, Mari carries deep compassion, insight, and resilience. She channels these strengths into her role with SAAS as our Executive Director, passionately supporting survivors and advancing our mission. Megan Thomas - Events Coordinator
Megan Thomas has been volunteering with SAAS for two years. She has extensive experience in helping create events and helps with administrative tasks to help all events go smoothly and with excellence. Megan also helps SAAS by finding resources for survivors and helping them feel safe and supported.
